2.5 litres, 20 sq.m - £78.00 - DO NOT ORDER these paints alone: They must be used in conjunction with the correct Intumescent Base Paint. Call us on 01626 872886 for a specification to ensure that you have the correct product combination and that a Certificate can be issued once the job is completed. Flame Paint Additive Concentrate to add to non-fire paints. Purchase the Flame Additive to allow your own chosen paint to be applied over our SFR Flame Paint. The Flame Additive is a concentrate normally used in the production of the flame paints above. In cases where a special colour or brand of paint has been specified it allows you to upgrade that paint. It cannot be used with Varnishes, Stains or Dyes. Flame Paint Additive Concentrate Prices DO NOT ORDER this paint additive alone. It may only be used in paint applied over the top of one of our SFR Flame Paints. Intumescent Varnish and Flame Varnish An Intumescent base coat varnish which swells in fire. Apply to bare wood only. Do not apply over existing paints or varnishes. Check with us first regarding surface preparation. The product has a slight yellowing effect on some timbers - mix a small sample and apply to a test area before mixing the whole pack. Requires a top coat of Flame Varnish. Allow the Intumescent coats to cure hard before applying Flame Varnish as a finish. Usage - allow 6.5 square metres per litre on a smooth surface, per coat. Coverage rate - a 3 litre pack will cover about 20 square metres, per coat. Coats - one, two, three or four coats, allow 24 hours between. This varnish is Epoxy based, and requires the two parts to be very thoroughly mixed at 1:1. This product has an odour until overcoated with our Flame Varnish Top Coat. Warnings - do not apply over existing paint or varnish. May cause some timbers to yellow slightly - mix a small amount and apply to a test area before mixing a whole pack. Inadequate surface preparation can lead to 'cissing' - a defect in which freshly applied paint or varnish recedes from the surface leaving small craters or bare areas. The usual cause is a water repellent surface due to an existing coating (oil, wax, paint, varnish, etc.) or a lack of surface cleaning. Always test a small patch before proceeding - allow the product to fully dry, apply the top coat(s) and then check for finish and colour before proceeding with the whole area. Intumescent Clear Varnish Base Coat Price Must be overcoated with Flame Varnish 3.0 litres, 20 sq.m - £166.00 - Warning - this is a two pack product: only mix as much as you can apply in 1 hour. Order Flame Varnish Finish to achieve a satin or matt finish over the Intumescent Base Varnish. Always use Flame Varnish as a finish to prevent residual odour. Apply to dry, bare wood only. The product has a slight yellowing effect on some timbers. For indoor use in dry areas only. Clear Flame Varnish Top Coat Prices Matt Finish 1.7 litres, 20 sq. m - £84.00 - Satin Finish The product has a slight yellowing effect on some timbers - mix a small sample and apply to a test area before mixing the whole pack. You may not be able to obtain a Fire Certificate of Supply in those circumstances. 'Fire Paint' is a general term rather misleadingly used to cover both Fire Resistant Paint, used as a top coat to protect the Intumescent Paint beneath and Intumescent Paint or Intumescent Varnish, which are both relatively soft coatings. Class O and Class 1 are Classifications used regarding fire action on the surface of the paint, whereas 30 Minutes, 60 Minutes and 90 Minutes describe the period of protection given by the underlying Intumescent layers of Intumescent Paint or Intumescent Varnish against fire penetration. We can provide an Intumescent Paint price based on the thickness of the wood or steel to be protected, and a separate price for the Flame Paint used as a top coat, which acts as a retardant fire layer, producing an inert gas to protect itself for 10 minutes.
